The Georgian Academy of Sciences has been a member since 1992.

The Georgian Academy of Science (GAS) was established in 1941. It is an autonomous body financed by the Georgian Government. GAS is the highest scientific institution carrying out and coordinating fundamental research in the natural sciences and the humanities in the Republic. It is also a scientific adviser to the government of Georgia. Nine scientific departments of the Academy unite 63 scientific research institutes. 70 Academicians and 71 corresponding members are elected to the Academy. GAS has established close relations and promotes bilateral cooperation with the scientific organizations of various countries. GAS has available the richest depository of unique manuscripts and the rarest collections reflecting the century-old history of material culture of the country.
